“At the end of the day”
I dislike this much more than “When all is said and done”
Are we all incapable to summarize? Does the expression try
to give more importance of what is being said?
“It’s a small world”
No it is not! I rarely bump into people I know Ever! If the
world is so small I would be tripping over old school mates and relatives!
“6 of 1, half a dozen of another”
I don’t even really understand what this means and why I
would ever want to use it?
“Better late than Never”
Most people use this when they are late with a birthday
card, or arriving late to an event or? I’m not really sure if the sentiment is
correct. I remembered your birthday a
month later? Does that make up for the late card?
“Love Ya”
What happened to just ‘Good-Bye’, or ‘See you later’?
Often I don’t love the people who are expressing this
expression. Do they really love me?
“Epic”
I know this is not an expression but the popularity of the
use of the word is driving me crazy. So I am adding it to my list. Parting of
the Red Sea that was ‘Epic’. Spending 8 hours at bars is not ‘Epic’ it is
getting drunk!
I am learning not to
roll my eyes with my “epic” objections because “At the end of the day”, “It is a small World” and what does it
matter, “6 of 1, half a dozen of another’ while “better late than never” to
realize I must be tolerant! “Love Ya’!
What about you? What expressions drive you crazy?
