2 summers ago our company had an intern that was fantastic.
She was smart, helpful, insightful, a can do attitude, and very sweet. There
was no question in my mind that she would go far in her career choice.
She is now working in NYC in the fashion industry. I met
with her recently and was thrilled to hear about her life. Not as bad as
working for the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ but still a far cry from laid back Haralee.Com
in Portland, Oregon.
She had all of us laughing through her visit with her NYC
stories. Working with the famous and almost famous and their requests were
stories you would think were part of a movie, or at least a sitcom. Stories
about dating guys and finding roommates, and going out at night kept us laughing
for hours. Obviously I am still talking
about our visit!
I am amazed at her maturity in not only managing a high-pressure
job but also navigating what it takes to live in The City as a 24 year old! She
has found sample sales to augment her wardrobe to look fashionably current. Of
course it helps that she can wear a size 2 or 4!
This summer we may look for another intern. We will be
having a new photo shoot with models, which is the big thing interns want to
experience. Our former intern set the bar high for our expectations. I am
starting to put the word out now.
Have you used an intern for your business?

She sounds awesome! Hope you find someone equally good! And, if you find two, can you send one down this way? I could use an intern desperately!
Thanks Lois, will do!
She sounds terrific. In my previous job we always had interns. It was always a pleasure getting to know them.
We have had some that were not great at all so our expectations were not high and we were just wowed. When the program works it is fun. Thanks for your comments!
She is adorable!
I used an intern last summer and I am looking for one now. I love their energy.
Thanks Doreen.I know the energy is refreshing. I am so very proud of this intern who is now working in PR in NYC.
