If
you live in a climate zone that has cold winter weather you are faced with some
fashion uncertainties. Do you dare don a turtleneck? Do you add that wool or
heavy sweater under your coat? Can you wear boots with tights under pants and
not start melting?
The
real challenge is Holiday party fashion. What can you wear that you will not go
into a sweat once your body acclimates to the temperature? Going from
comfortable to cool to comfortable to warm is often a formula for hot flashes.
10 Tips on how keep your
cool and only look hot this Holiday season:
1.Reduce
the temperature in your home as you get dressed.
2.Be
sure you are not rushed as this may trigger anxiety and hello hot flash!
3.Put
your make-up on last.
4.Have
the car warmed up. This means there is not a big temperature change from your
home to your car.
5.Try
to be dropped off or park as close to the door of your party as possible.
Ideally just drape your coat over your shoulders.
6.Choose
your clothing to the amount of people at the party. This means an open house
with a mob of people; your attire is different than a dinner for 8.
7.For
a mob scene party, a sleeveless dress with open toe shoes works well, or pants
and a top. No sweaters, boots, or Spanx for the crowded party!
8.For
the dinner party you may be able to wear those boots if you must, and even Spanx.
If it is a work related party or with people that raise your anxiety level,
less is more, respectively.
9.Go
easy on the alcohol. Let’s face it, you don’t need any other stimulates to
encourage a hot flash.
10.Keep
your make-up handy just incase your eyebrow liner starts heading south.
Happy
Holidays!

FOR me - it is still bundle the hell up b/c everyone's house is FREEZING, so I look not one bit sexy in a turtleneck and scarf...I guess in a few years, I can wear my slinky stuff????
I remember being freezing at parties! Whine for some estrogen again!!

Such good tips. Where were you 5 years ago when I melted/froze/melted continuously wherever I went? I threw away all my winter sweaters and guess what...I'm COLD now and had to go out and buy new ones!
