FIVE Summer Fashion Do's and Don'ts

As the weather heats up or stays beastly hot where you live, here are some tips to help you keep your cool.

1.     Wear open toe shoes whenever possible.
Pretty polish on your toes and you are cooling from the bottom up

2.     A sleeveless top, preferably wicking as your first layer.
You can always layer with an airy sweater or blouse but able to dress ”down”
Available at www.haralee.com

3.     Always wear underwear.
It may be tempting to go braless, but don’t. If you are older than 25, no tube tops or short-shorts. Strapless dresses that have elastic smocked bodices, you still must wear a bra.

4.     No Belly Shirts.
Even if you have a 6 pack or Abs of steel that you are proud of, No! You can wear the bikini at the beach but no belly shirts if over 30.

5.     Not sure if a look is appropriate for you; ask a girlfriend’s opinion.

I have a good friend who has a body anyone would die for and she works hard to maintain it. On a recent shopping trip I had to tell her ‘No’ on a few things. Yes they looked great on her, most clothes do, but they were not age appropriate. As we were walking for coffee a woman passed us in too short and too tight skirt and top. My friend turned to me and said, “She doesn’t have a friend to tell her NO”!

Take Away: Girlfriends don’t let girlfriends dress inappropriately!
Have you had a friend give you a fashion thumbs up or thumbs down recently?

I am with you on the toe nail polish and just saying NO to the tight stuff! :)

The big Purse can hike things up a bit so it may be best to check a look with accessories too!
