Are you a Groupon Slut?

Have you said good-bye to your manicurist, your hairstylist and your gym instructor for Groupon specials? Have you gone back to the new stylist or manicurist or exercise class at regular price? NO? Well GS you are!

No doubt everyone loves a bargain. Groupon deals are 50% up to 90% off the regular price of goods or services. It is hard to resist with daily emails and GrouponNow deals. Of course there is Living Social, Amazon deals and even AA deals. Just in case you are telling yourself that you are not a Groupon Slut because you use Living Social, sorry!

I am not saying the deals aren’t fantastic, they are. What I am saying is that many small businesses using Groupon or other discount coupon companies want new business but to survive need some coupon customers to come back as a regular customer.

I think it is a great way to try a new restaurant, new nail application or an exercise class.  Perfect way to try a winery tour or a fun activity. Who knew there were so many kinds of facials, yoga or float tanks or salt rooms for relaxation? I am reluctant to even consider a Groupon for Lasik surgery, Plastic Surgery, Permanent Make-up or Teeth Whitening! Call me crazy but some procedures need more than a good discount to get my business.

Am I being too cautious? Have you tried a more permanent procedure using a Groupon? What’s your best Groupon experience?

I rarely buy a groupon.a - I am a loyal customer b - sometimes they expire before I use them.

Oh well - I miss some bargains I guess.

That is a great point and many companies know that redemption rates may not be as high as sales. Good for the companies, bad for the customer!

I'm with you, Groupons are for restaurants and spas, not medical procedures.

I'm glad I am not alone! Thanks Dianne.

MEDICAL procedures? You've got to be kidding me. No way.

I don't use Groupon, I found it annoying. Good service and rewarding customer loyalty work for me.
